My Top 30 Movies

Last Christmas I got a top 100 movies list and am on number 30. Here’s my ranking from best to worst along with a little blurb about why I ranked them there. So, I happened to get a top 100 movie list for Christmas last year. I have been slowly moving through the list and attempting to watch them all. I have watched 30/100 movies on the list and so far here is my list in order from best to worst along with a little blurb about why they are ranked the way they are.

1.The Dark Knight

-The Dark Knight is such a good movie. It has a great plot, a great villain, and just about everything to make a movie great. I think my favorite part was when the Joker blew up the hospital, especially knowing that some of that scene was improvised due to the fact the explosion didn’t go off right away.

2.Rocky

-While Rocky is not my favorite movie in the Rocky series it is still one of my favorite movies. I love the whole story line throughout the movie and the end fight scene was incredibly done.

3. Inception

-This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I loved the storyline and how each character needed something in order to tell if the world was real or fake. I think the coolest is how these people just built these worlds from their mind.

4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

-This is my favorite Indiana Jones in the series. I think it gave a really good back story on Indiana Jones as well as him and his dad finding the Holy Grail was an extremely interesting plot.

5. Raiders of the Lost Ark

-This one is just a classic, it gave a good introduction to who Indiana Jones is. I think the best scene and most memorable scene is him running from the boulder. I personally love Indiana Jones which is really why these are so high along with the fact that the movies are extremely good.

6. Back to the Future

-I love this movie, I think that it is such a well written movie with an amazing plot. This movie was very different from the movies of its time, which is probably why it is such a widely known movie. But, for me personally why it is so high up is because I liked all the characters along with the story.

7. Memento

- This is the most recent movie I watched on the list but it was very good. I liked this movie a lot, I think it was a little confusing at points and definitely had to pay attention the whole time. Though when you did it was an incredible movie with an amazing plot. It also has a major twist in it that I didn't see coming.

8. Star Wars

- Personally I love Star Wars, I think that this movie was really the reason why I like Star Wars. This is because in this movie you're introduced to all the main characters and get to see them grow together in order to defeat Darth Vader.

9. The Terminator

-This is not the best Terminator movie in the series but it is still really good. This movie has a really different plot and it is very cool to see the characters battle throughout the movie all the way till the end.

10. American Psycho

-I really liked this movie even though it had very interesting topics throughout. I think that Christian Bale just did such a good job portraying this character even in the gross scenes it was hard to stop watching because of his performance.

11. Batman Begins

-I think this movie is very good but it is not my favorite in the series. Though I do believe that this movie is one of the best first movies in almost any series. I think it gives such a good background to Batman along with the plot being amazing as well.

12. Pirates of the Caribbean and the Curse of the Black Pearl

-I personally love the Pirates of the Caribbean series and this movie is one of my favorites in the series. I liked the whole story line of the movie. I think this has one of the best storylines of the series and it is one movie I can watch over and over and never get tired of.

13. The Matrix

-This is a very different movie than what I imagined it being when I first watched it. It had a very interesting turn of events that you wouldn’t see coming. I feel that this movie was also a very good introduction movie to the characters.

14. Gladiator

-This was a very good movie.The whole plot was very interesting and one of the most entertaining movies. In the end though this movie was very sad but very interesting to watch Maximus through his journey.

15. Guardians of the Galaxy

-I think the best part of this movie is the sound track. They picked the right songs for every scene in the movie and I think that's what made it so good.

16. The Avengers

-This is a good marvel movie. It is not the best Avenger movie though which is really why it is so low. I do think it is a good movie and gave a good start for the rest of the marvel series.

17. Fight Club

-I just recently watched this movie without knowing anything about it. This movie was very interesting to say the least. This is another movie you really have to pay attention to in order to catch some details that are important for the latter. I think this movie is very well done but at some points I just didn’t like it. Overall though it is a very good movie you just have to pay attention.

18. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

-This movie is so low because out of all the Harry Potter movies it is probably towards the end of my list. I think this is a very good movie but I definitely prefer the book along with the fact I just think it's not the best Harry Potter movie. I do think it gives great introductions to the main trio in this movie though.

19. Monsters Inc

-I love this movie so much. I think it is in my top 3 disney movies to be honest. I loved the story line with Boo, Sully, and Mike. I think it's so sad what happened in the end and I am waiting for another one because I want to know.

20. Toy Story

-This is such a good movie. This movie really showed what it felt like to be a kid because everything Andy did with his toys I did as well. I think this also shows true friendship between Woody and Buzz which I really liked.

21. he Lion King

-I watched this movie so much as a kid. It was definitely one of my favorites growing up. I think watching Simba become the king he needs to be was very well executed.

22. Finding Nemo

-This is a very cute little disney movie. I liked the story line along with all the characters in the movie. I think throughout the movie the plot was very good and one of my favorites.

23. Wall-e

-I think this is a very underrated disney movie. I think that it is a good movie but it isn’t the best Disney movie but it isn’t the worst either. I think it has a very good story throughout the movie. I think this is more of a cute movie than anything.

24. The Lord of the Rings

-This is a good movie but I think that there are better movies along with the fact they were very long movies. Which isn’t typically a problem but I felt sometimes scenes weren’t needed or adventures would be dragged out longer than needed.

25. Up

-The reason this movie is so low is because I have not seen it in a very long time. so , I only remember bits and pieces. I do believe that this is a good movie. I just don’t remember much.

26. Logan

-Wolverine is my favorite character in marvel and I really didn’t think this movie did him justice at all. I love Logan and his character but adding all the mutant kids kind of felt dumb. I think that this movie was overall good but I didn’t like how they did certain things in the movie especially to Logan.

27. Groundhogs Day

-This was an ok movie. At the beginning it was really good but towards the end it did just get really repetitive and felt like it was being dragged out. But it is still a good movie other than that.

28. Saving Private Ryan

-I know this rating seems low but, what I have to say is I was doing Biology homework when I watched this movie so, I don’t remember it as much as others. So it is so low because I need to rewatch it in order to give a better rating.

29. Airplane

-This is a comedy about an incident on a plane. It's not a bad movie but it's not the best either.

30. Taxi Driver

-All I can say with this movie is I didn’t get it or like it at all.
