In My Dreams

In my dreams there are palm trees and crystal water

There are canals that connect countries

Tamburinos ring in my ears with its sweet melody

Molas weave patterns that bring together all of nature

Polleras twirl in rich reds, whites, and blues

Women with curls and curves to match their sass walk by

And all the men's heads turn

Their hips swing to a beat only they can hear

In my dreams there is struggle

And a history and culture longer than any novel to be written

But in my dreams

There is a mirror

I see beauty staring back at me
