In my dreams there are palm trees and blue beaches

There are canals that connect entire countries

Tamborito ring in my ears with its sweet melody

Molas with its bright colors shine as bright as the city

Polleras twirl in colors of rich reds, whites, and blues

The warm smell of empanadas can be sensed from miles away

There are no skinny blonde women walking down a runway

It instead has equally beautiful women with dark curls and curves to match their sass

In my dreams there are immigration papers and struggle

There is history and culture that goes on much longer than any novel to be witten

But in my dreams there is freedom and justice for all
