I am a mosaic

I read the book dedications before I start reading a new book because my dad says they are always his favorite part.

I compliment people on their smiles because a woman at the grocery store told me it was the greatest compliment she had ever received.

I tie the laces to my Converse behind my ankle because I saw a boy at the mall do it and I thought it looked cool.

I listen to rain noises when I go to sleep because my best friend did and I always slept well at her house.

I read Junie B. Jones books religiously in elementary school because my best friend said Junie B. Jones was her favorite.

I go to the park and read when I’m overwhelmed because that’s what my mom does when she needs to clear her head.

I wiggle my fingers when I wave “hello” because my grandma has always waved that way.

I keep my coins in one of the cup holders in my car because that’s where my dad puts his loose change.

I always look up the meanings of songs because a close friend of mine says you listen to the song differently when you know why it was written.

Humans carry pieces of every person that has ever mattered to them.

I am a mosaic,

a collage of every thing I have found special about the people around me.

Even if you don’t realize it, you are a part of someone’s mosaic.

You have done something that may have seemed insignificant to you but meant much more to someone else.

Who’s a part of your mosaic?
