Don´t Worry Darling Review and Overview

In September of this year, Don't Worry Darling made its debut on the big screens! Many people have been anticipating this movie for months prior because of its amazing cast. Also, the drama that has come along with it. You may have definitely heard about it. You also probably heard about the mixed reviews on the film itself. Here is a review and overview of Don´t Worry Darling (2022).

Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Olivia Wilde… & Shia Labeouf? Many, many people know of the Don´t Worry Darling production drama but do they know about it? Well, Olivia Wilde is the director of DWD and of course, you have to have actors! So, we have the main characters Jack and Alice Chambers. In 2020, Wilde announced that she was going to make a movie starring Florence Pugh and Shia Labeouf. Eventually, Shia was not a part of the film anymore. What happened? Well, Labeouf has accusations and claims of being violent and inappropriate towards multiple women and Olivia was worried for Florence Pughs safety because Shia and Florence would obviously have many scenes together including some vulnerable ones. As a result, she fired him. After Olivia made a paragraph about what happened and posted it, Shia came out and claimed that he actually quit.

Wilde then hired Harry Styles in replacement to play Jack. Around that time, they two were rumored to be dating. Which eventually was proven to be true. There were also rumors that their relationship was causing tension on set. Mostly between Olivia and Florence. In magazine interviews, they took digs at each other about certain scenes and how they respond to press questions. Florence seemed more fed up and she wasn't interested in being involved in the press tour or promoting the movie. Then, the Venice Film Fest came around. That afternoon, there was a press conference and Florence was nowhere to be seen. Wilde was asked about her absence and said she was busy with another movie and that they are lucky she is going to the FIlm Fest that night. She also said that she did not want to feed into untrue internet drama. The event happened and Florence Pugh was present. During the red carpet, there were no pictures taken with Florence & Harry, Harry & Olivia, Olivia and Florence, or all of them together. Finally, the movie premiere happened and the biggest rumor started. Did Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine? A member of Chris Pine´s team came out and said that did not happen. To end off, The Rolling Stones came out and said Florence Pugh would not be present for the New York showing of DWD.

Now… was the film even good? Well, the critics rotten tomato percentage says 38%... not so good. However, the audience gave it a whopping 74%- which is average when it comes to rotten tomatoes. The bad reviews say that the movie has a great beginning, slower in between the rising action and the climax, and the ending is not the best. ¨After this promising start the film seems not to know quite where to go next. The ending is certainly a let-down, and perhaps the screenplay should have had another rewrite.¨ However, the good reviews say that they love the casting, the visuals are beautiful, and the plot twist was amazing. ¨Loved it! Beautifully shot and captivating storyline. Will definitely see again on the big screen.¨

The movie is up for a People's Choice Award and an Oscar. Yes, there were quite a few trials and tribulations in order to get this movie out.
