Sophomore Nadia Ndematebem's digital art

This is a digital piece I did of the rising pop-indie artist Conan Gray. There was a lot of experimenting I did with this piece as I wanted to broaden my creative skills. There’s a lot less blending and more mark making and harsh lines to make certain aspects of his face stand out, like the bags under his eyes or his tongue. I also tried out cross hatching in areas with more shadow to help emphasize that area. The goal doesn't always have to be realism art, a key component to art is experimentation, it helps expand your artistic tools, so you can develop even better art in the future.
